Permit Parking

Parking in the Township is offered through HonkMobile, cloud-based technology which streamlines parking.

Winter Parking Reminder

Please note from December 1st, through to April 1, 2024, parking is prohibited on any Township road or municipal lot between 2:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Additionally, please ensure vehicles are parked in a manner that does not interfere with snow removal.

Honk Mobile Parking Now Available for All Oro-Medonte Residents!

The Township has transitioned to digital parking permits for all Oro-Medonte residents available through HonkMobile. Current parking stickers will remain valid through March 31st, 2025. The Township encourages residents to familiarize themselves with HonkMobile by obtaining their two (2) free digital parking permits through the HonkMobile app or visiting HonkMobile.

Please Note: Residents will need to complete the form twice if they wish to receive two (2) parking permits.

Benefits of Digital Residential Parking Permits

Convenience. It's now easier to claim your free resident parking permit. Apply any time, anywhere from any internet-connected device. If you don’t have access to reliable internet or require assistance, please contact the Township at 705-487-2171 or stop by the Administration Centre located at 148 Line 7 South - Township staff are happy to help.

Peace of mind. Once your digital parking permit is active, there is no need to display proof of parking in your vehicle when parked in Township identified parking areas throughout Oro-Medonte. Each digital permit is tied to a single license plate. Municipal Law Enforcement Officers can quickly verify that your parked vehicle has a permit through the license plate number.

Daily/Hourly Parking

For daily/hourly parking options, please visit HonkMobile. You will be able to search, pay for, and top up parking from a mobile phone, tablet or any internet connected device. Users can either download the app or scan the QR code at all applicable permit parking areas within the Township. To download the app, please visit HonkMobile.​

Non-Resident Parking in the Township of Oro-Medonte

Non-Resident parking permits are only available for purchase online. Please visit HonkMobile or click the link below to view the pricing and purchase a parking permit.

Please Note: Prior to obtaining your non-resident parking permit (annual, summer or winter), you will be required to provide the applicable license plate number associated with the permit.​

Vehicle ownership document (i.e. green permit that is provided by Service Ontario upon registration of your vehicle) for each license plate you are registering. Please ensure the owner’s name, license plate number and address are visible.

Picture of proof of address (i.e. driver's license, tax or water bill from current tax year, cell phone bill from within the last 60 days).

To protect your privacy, once your application has been reviewed, images provided within the HonkMobile system are automatically deleted from the system.

No. You do not need a mobile device or cell phone to obtain your digital resident parking permit. You can apply, upload documents, and register your digital parking permit from any internet connected device.

No, parking permits are required in the Township year-round.

Township of Oro-Medonte Municipal Law Enforcement Officers utilize a tool that confirms if the license plate number of a parked vehicle has a valid permit linked to it. They do not have access to any other personal information.

Yes, you do require a digital resident parking permit to ensure you can park for free.

Any changes to your plates will require you to contact support@honkmobile.com and follow the instructions provided.

If you need a license plate number removed, please change your plate number through the Honk Mobile app or contact HonkMobile Support directly at 800-979-3162.

Applications can be rejected for several reasons. You will receive an email from HonkMobile with details regarding why your application was rejected.

Reasons for an application rejection may include: additional documents needed, details are not clearly visible on documents, you submitted two (2) vehicle plates but only one ownership, etc.

Yes. No personal information is stored in the HonkMobile system (app or website.) Once your information is uploaded and verified, it is deleted. Municipal Law Enforcement Officers will scan parked vehicle license plates and receive a notification that indicates 'permit verified' or 'permit not found' – they will not have access to your personal information.

Year Round Permit Parking

Parking permits (both Resident and Non-Resident) are required in all Permit Parking areas as noted below. These areas are exempt from the Winter Parking Restrictions.

By-Law No. 2021-005 prohibits vehicles from parking on Tow​nship Roads between December 1st and April 1st of the following year during the hours of 2am to 12pm.​
